There is little doubt that the European Commission will enjoy a long Christmas break, but does it sleep? Are there promises of promotion if returning with some scam that can be placed at the door of taxpayer GB? All these antics having the support of the British contingent employed directly by this motley outfit of unelected drips.
It is easy to speculate what could happen to the discredited currency, as 'black holes' of debt don't disappear when shunted about, they just appear elsewhere, as noted in the previous blog. This point, nevertheless, needs to be stressed rigorously; no more fits of peak as other economies within the Eurozone bump along the bottom. When that happens, the markets are pointing out what many of us already know.
We can assume, therefore, that 2012 will be an uncertain year. The EU has got to commence thinking in terms of production rather than welfare; any fool can give other peoples money away. Britain will need to make a decisive move, dithering will not be good enough. The Prime Minister has to show authority, the current half measure will soon dissipate with the passing of time; decisions need to be made from the 'cat bird seat' while in the ascendancy. Timing is crucial, if he has the wherewithal to act. I'm sure we are about to witness plenty of opportunities.
TWO YELLOW CARDS OR ONE RED WILL SUFFICE.
FINGERS CROSSED, 'HAPPY NEW YEAR'.

THE MORPHING OF ANGLAS MERKOZY.
Over recent weeks, we have seen Angela Merkel and Nicolas Sarkozy merge into one apparition. In so doing, they have decided that their model, regarding the Euro, is the only way to proceed. This may appear to be the method preferred by the dim; we have plenty of those in Britain, particularly the backward BBC, not to mention 'Thoroughly Modern Miliband' and his bunch. We must draw a line however, as not all in the Labour Party are as simple as the leadership. What continues to happen in Brussels is the forming of different groups, and the pursuit of vilifying anyone who doesn't wish to play their time-consuming games; while hoping that a miracle is around the corner. In the hope that robbing Peter to pay Paul will pacify the natives. You can fool some of the people etc., A debt is a debt, you can only move it around, but it will always be there somewhere.
We hear the coterie of unelected officials in Brussels going on about fraud in the economies of the failing nations. What about fraud in the Brussels' book-keeping? Something that, after seventeen consecutive years, is now accepted as the norm. Well I want to see people behind bars for lengthy periods. In addition, another controlling factor is the imminent Presidential elections in France, making the limited timescale for Sarkozy all the more serious.
The most peculiar aspect of all these undemocratic shenanigans is having a vote when everybody is exhausted, probably prepared to agree to anything for the sake of peace and quiet. Surely they should at least consult their own parliaments before signing up to anything prepared by a bunch of hustlers eager to pacify their own vanity. Certainly not their respective electorates, as it would seem, that both the French and Germans are getting a little restless, for different reasons. France is acquiring a substantial debt, whilst Germany has nightmares about hyper-inflation, quite rightly so.
So David Cameron, ten out of ten for sticking to your guns; they only want to control the City of London, creaming taxes off the top to pay for the irresponsible within the Eurozone.

TWO COBBLERS COBBLING.
As the Euro saga enters the festive season, with most of the participants hoping for the role of Baron Hardup, all flocking around the mother goose with the golden egg, what is happening is truly a complete pantomime. We witness endless meetings, mostly between the two main fixers, Merkel and Sarkozy.
The comedy of errors can only stop when someone takes charge, to prevent chasing the debt. A form of accounting that only creates a black hole elsewhere; moving the debt around. A type of nonsense always favoured by socialists, in an attempt to keep their supporters happy for as long as they can mask the latest problem.
The Euro is bound to change dramatically if it wishes to survive, and that can only happen if the weaker economies can step up to the mark, and that is highly unlikely.
Can anybody explain what is wrong with the European sovereign nations just trading peacefully together? Treaties can be arranged regarding defence concerns, along with many other things. This will always trump the notion of a central government, which would cause more friction than the coarsest of sandpaper.
THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO PROCEED.

BEWARE THE HIDDEN DETAIL.
As Chancellor Merkel keeps the rest of the European Union waiting, feeding all other member nations involved, on a drip; hardly the best way to proceed within what hitherto was considered to be a democratic alliance. The problem with the regime in Brussels, is that it is arranged along socialist lines, which makes overtures to the masses on 'the take'; at the same time, implying that the responsible sector picks up the tab. How can the hard working Germans possibly be a part of this arrangement?
The Euro currency is rapidly becoming, 'so yesterday'. The longer the doubts over the finances of the whole of Europe remain, the greater the problem becomes. The Governor of the Bank of England, only this week, laid it on the line. It's not a question of, there may be trouble ahead, there will be trouble ahead. Going on strike will only compound the problem.
The British Prime Minister is about to find himself on trial. If he ignores the electorate following any treaty changes, he can pick up his ball and go home.
WHATEVER HAPPENS, THE FUTURE WILL BE COSTLY.

ANGELA'S AT IT AGAIN.
As Nicolas Sarkozy keeps a discreet distance from the crises in the Eurozone, due to his country's embarrassing debt situation, he is leaving the bossing around of fellow EU nations to Chancellor Merkel. She is, naturally, playing a blinder, even in the face of considerable opposition from a goodly number of German citizens.
What a tragedy, when supposedly democratic institutions turn into dictatorial regimes just to pursue their ridiculous vanity. Let's be honest; what has gone on in both Greece and Italy in the last week or so is a travesty of what the west should stand for. Surely we can never again recommend that democracy is the answer, when flying in the face of the very concept.
In the 21st century, politicians are trying to fight logic, purely for their own ends. Just as liquid will always assume it's own level, and nature will continue to correct us, as we humans think that we are smarter. The future will hold some surprising events, not all palatable.
MUCH WILL BITE OUR TAILS IN THE NEAR FUTURE.

"HOW WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR BOOKS COOKED"?
"Brussels' style perhaps; that will be well done".
Rather like Christmas and birthdays, we experience the ritual denial of auditors' signatures on the European Union annual accounts. This is the seventeenth consecutive year that fraud has been exposed in the shabby business which is the EU. The extraordinary result of this disgraceful fiasco is that no one appears to care. Furthermore, not one official faces charges. Which probably suggests that there isn't enough prison accommodation in Brussels.
From this annual event of overlooking the disgraceful waste of taxpayers money, is it any wonder that the whole European project is in abject meltdown?
During the ongoing series of panic meetings, mainly between the two fixers, Merkel and Sarkozy, one wonders if they ever discuss these occurrences. On the other hand, fraud might well be part of their political make up. The writer is mindful of Stalin's impatience with Churchill, who regularly reminded the Dictator, that in a democracy, decisions had to be made in Parliament, not by one dictatorial person. This is something that the current Westminster shambles would do well to remember.
WITH A BIT OF LUCK, THERE WON'T BE A NEXT YEAR.

A WARNING SHOT ACROSS EUROPE'S BOW.
China is, quite rightly, beginning to flex it's financial muscle, following a request from the Eurozone nations to back their rescue plan. This lesson in logical economics is recommended by the head of the Chinese state's overseas investment arm, Jin Liqun. Chairman Liqun suggests that Europe gets it's working house in order, cutting back on welfare, and working for longer; in both hours per week and years before retirement. Most of us understand that the money for all these welfare excesses simply does not exist.
Britain can do this quickly, by exiting from the European Union. All that is required is enough political will; we know that the majority of the electorate would be behind the Government.
From hereon, China will dominate the world financially, because it holds the largest cash mountain. This occurred because the West, particularly the USA and Britain, started to overpay themselves, which automatically expunged them from the market place. So China's wealth came from the western nations.
The real problem lies in the initial decision that we will have to pay ourselves less, or produce goods much more efficiently; otherwise we will only push the problem further down the road, ultimately turning it into a disaster.
ARE WE READY FOR SINO IMPERIALISM?

EUROPE'S HIT AND MISS ACCOUNTING.
It is understood that one of Germany's bailed out banks, FMS Wertmanagement, has stumbled across over 50billion euros, which was no doubt lurking at the back of a drawer, or under a file. If this is how Europe does it's accounting, heaven only knows what kind of mess the Eurozone is really in. There is an alternative way of looking at this supposed find; is it a story to give the rest of the world a little confidence?

THE FRAU WITH THE FRIGHTENERS.
It wasn't going to be too long before the European Leaders resorted to the threat of war, if they didn't throw even more money at the childlike project that is the Euro; a toytown currency which goes on to wreak havoc at every turn. Chancellor Merkel has a point about how such situations can cause unease among nations, not to mention raising the occasional hackle. Tyrants have been known to emerge at such moments in history. This confirms the fact that initial planning is essential at the outset of such a decision to have a common currency. Unfortunately, the currency was not the reason; that was federalism.
In the blog; 'SOME STARTLING REVELATIONS', the author wrote of Mark Steyn's book, 'After America, Get Ready for Armageddon', in which he points out that the USA is going down the same disastrous route as Europe: Empathy, diversity, people connecting, and all the other stupid ideas sprayed all over students, particularly at university. All these things are what well-mannered people of my generation have always done. This nonsensical social engineering, nevertheless, is so obviously a major part of processing a sterile world, which we're told is good for us. I suggest, therefore, that we look around us at the debt mountain, both domestic and national. I heard the mention of China being involved in the support for the Euro; this means that we are funding our own borrowing, as we get so many of our manufactured items from China.
NO WONDER WE CAN'T RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.

THE DREAM BECOMES A NIGHTMARE.
Let us not pretend that the intentions of European leaders, imagining that they could create a vast superstate across the continent, are close to hitting the buffers. The shambles that is the Euro, is currently having a devastating effect on the world's economy; but the fools can't, or won't let go. This is not sour grapes, it is only stating the obvious.
When politicians abandon democracy for their own ends, it will cause considerable tears, much consternation, and prove to be costly. I can vouch that my MP, Ken Clarke, has never, ever sought the opinions of his constituents. What gives these politicians the right to ride roughshod over the people who foot the bill; one has more say in warfare, particularly if on active service.
Let's repeat here, comments from earlier postings: There could be far more dissension following any collapse in the union, by ignoring public opinion, or indeed checking every so often. We might have to introduce warnings, threatening these decision makers with crimes against democracy. Hopefully, such a decision would stop these ridiculous upstarts in their tracks.
MARXISM DOES NOT WORK.

SOME STARTLING REVELATIONS.
Mark Steyn, the Canadian born observer and writer, following his book, 'America Alone', has been forced to have a rethink. The manifestations in his latest publication, triggered by what is happening in the USA today, not being dissimilar to appalling happenings in Europe. His latest findings paint a disturbing picture of large, obtrusive, overtaxing government getting in the way of any form of progress. The book is entitled, 'After America, get ready for Armageddon'.
Let us commence with the size of the American National Debt, or more interestingly, the size of the repayments, which the book shows as a mind boggling statistic; explaining, that within a very few years, the annual interest payments alone to it's largest creditor, China, will cover the annual cost of the Chinese armed forces. He can't resist a humorous aside regarding the so-called progressives, in suggesting that if the Hoover Dam is not made wheelchair friendly, it should be closed down.
Overbearing big government has become the norm in the States, as in Europe. Steyn makes the point, that when seven million Americans were made redundant in the downturn, the number of staff in the vast area of state employment taking home 100,000$ per year, went up from 14% to 19%. However, his most frightening disclosure is what is going on in Greece; highlighting the appalling incident, when the demonstrators/rioters blockaded a bank with staff inside, setting fire to the building, killing a number of the bank workers, and blocking the fire service from any rescue attempt. The reason for this demonstration, according to Steyn, was based on the fact that the Government was to stop the practice of state employees receiving 14 monthly pay cheques per calender year, a practice that carries on into retirement in their late fifties.
WHO WANTS TO PROP UP THE EURO NOW?

THE PROBLEM WITH EUROPE.
Why is the situation in Europe such a nightmare? Simples++++. The electorate doesn't get the opportunity to have a say in the process. We are sprayed with this drivel from Brussels, telling us how good they are for our well-being; but we don't get the opportunity to express our thoughts.
BRING BACK DEMOCRACY.

DEXIA: BANK OR BOARD GAME?
Batman and Robin (Merkel/Sarkozy) have had another weekend playing with their abacuses. This, presumably, has a lot to do with the collapse of Dexia Bank. Dexia has been over-exposed in the farcical attempt to shore up the Euro. How much more time and money needs to be wasted before the whole house comes tumbling down. Dexia is to be split up, giving the impression that the losses are not that great; this also acts as a sideshow for the greater woes confronting the ill-fated European project.
It is worth bearing in mind that the lack of financial/economic knowledge borne by both these national leaders is so obvious, as all they can see is a future giant European state. Which confirms the fact that the agenda is purely political. The regular meetings about the parlous state of the currency only goes to prove that fact. Otherwise we could have had a better result by now, instead of which, it is creating havoc in the world's finances.
Mitchell Feierstein's forthcoming book, regarding what he predicts to be the real credit crunch, could be definitive.
THE SUPPORTERS OF THE EUROPEAN PROJECT MUST BE HELD TO ACCOUNT.

IT'S GONE VERY QUIET OVER THERE.
German politics is developing into considerable turmoil, as confusion reigns on the continent regarding the Euro situation. Merkel appears to have gone underground with French President Sarkozy; we can only imagine what kind of scheme they are cooking up, desperately trying to keep the currency afloat. We suspect that they will hatch a plan that will cost even more billions to enact, which naturally will fail in fairly quick time. All this activity is currently holding much of the world transfixed, in a state of inactivity; rather like a 'statue waltz'.
Meanwhile, on the domestic front, Germany is busy voting in socialists. In Berlin for example, the SDP formed a coalition with the Greens. This, however, failed when the Greens could not agree to a new highway to serve the main airport, so the SDP joined forces with conservatives to push the planning through. Such is political life.
As a backdrop to all this marking time, Brussels is increasing it's budget demands by a few billion euros, or whatever the currency will be.
TIME IS RUNNING OUT FOR THE EU.

WILL WOLFGANG APPRECIATE THIS?
Angela Merkel forces the vote to throw even more money at the collapsing Euro economies. Here we have the classic case of defiance of the democratic system. Unless the Chancellor has become totally demented, she will be aware that she is flying into the faces of the folk who voted her into power. Power and control is a very toxic mix. We have in Merkel, operating on a centre right ticket, doing all the ground work of the unelected Marxist regime in Brussels.
Although only time will tell, such actions tend to create factions of the complete opposite, some of them with violent tendencies. There are plenty of examples from history supporting this comment: Germany being as good an example as any.
We in the United Kingdom, one suspects, could be near to breaking point with regard to parting with more support funding for a lost cause, such as the almost defunct Euro currency. The more money we throw at the situation, the more the recipient enjoys it; and as long as the morons keep parting with these 'borrowed' gifts of cash, the more will be needed in the future.
BEING A SOCIALIST IS MOST BENEFICIAL.

GREEK TRAGEDY OR BLESSING?
As the Greek involvement in the Euro enters it's eleventh hour, Batman and Robin (Merkel/Sarkozy) continue their charade, hoping for a miracle. Both France and Germany are as aware as the rest of us, that the currency is only limping along subject to cash injections; what on earth for?
Europe's nations are not about to go to war with each other when the decision is taken to call it a day. Delaying the decision not to abort this 'toy town' exercise, is a far greater threat. Why is the continent of Europe throwing billions at a lost cause? We would all be better off going about our daily business within the confines of our sovereign states.
Putting one's faith in a bunch of immature politicians is similar to having a lobotomy. Europe has faced the abyss twice in the last century. We must learn the lessons from history.
EUROPE IS TEETERING ON THE EDGE.

WHAT IS THE LIMIT ON THE EUROZONE'S CREDIT CARD?
As the 'Toytown' currency we know as the Euro staggers from one crisis to another, it is generally unreported by the novice news service run by the BBC. Those of us who take an interest in absurd financial activities, such as propping up a lost cause by throwing money at it, (even some British cash is involved), are not a part of this childlike fanciful dream; which is just one aspect of the game being played out by certain of the national leaders, particularly those who assume a bossy status.
What we are rarely informed about, are the comings and goings of senior bankers within the Euro system. Yesterday, one of the six-strong executives of the European Central Bank, Jurgen Stark, decided to leave. This follows the exit, in recent months, of Bundesbank chief, Axel Weber. We don't have to think that they know something that we don't; any intelligent person realises that the Eurozone is in a tail-spin, which can only end in disaster for Europe in general.
IT IS STRANGE HOW THE BBC EXCLUDES THIS IMPORTANT ASPECT.

HAS THE WORLD BEEN HERE BEFORE?
It is always satisfying when a knowledgeable economist, such as Gwyn Prins of the London School of Economics, outlines in simple terms, how the European Union uses every crisis to suit it's own ends; a power grab. We have outlined, for sometime, the creep of a Brussels Mafia, dipping their very expensive 'bread' into the mayhem brought about by it's farcical currency, the Euro.
Professor Prins outlines very clearly that the process, which he calls a 'beneficial crisis'; is something reminiscent of Marxism and Nazism. To advance his criticism, he sights the case of Europe's love affair with things environmental; the perfect vehicle for raising taxes. It is so easy to sell to the disinterested who never do their own research for the truth; happily proceeding, with disregard for this man-made 'sting'.
Merkel and Sarkozy have again attempted to put a transaction charge on the money markets. Should such a decision be made to this end, as we have explained previously, the global markets will all operate in places which wouldn't condone such a practice.
ALTHOUGH IT'S GONE QUIET OVER THERE, DON'T BE FOOLED.

A STRANGE EUROPEAN UNION.
The larger the EU becomes, the fewer participate in deciding which way it should go regarding the Euro. So we are back to Angela and Nicolas cobbling up a tax grab, the usual socialist last resort. Their latest plan is the well worn idea of taxing all financial transactions on the European stock exchanges. This is to create a fund to bail out the overspending economies within the Euro zone, which will give them carte blanche to continue with their profligacy. Meanwhile, all the big international business will be done elsewhere to avoid such a petty levy.
Chancellor Merkel and President Sarkozy have found themselves firmly painted into a corner regarding their 'toytown' currency, which is destroying the last vestiges of the fraudulent Euro club. This fact, nevertheless, fails to deter them from their quest to dominate Europe. Initially, the alliance of European nations, as we know, was sold to us as a means of trading equally; but has now evolved into a would be, undemocratic super state where Germany and France can dictate the terms.
STUPID PRIDE.

EUROPE'S RUNNING SHORT OF PLASTERS.
...when an organization the size of the European Union thinks it can get by with second rate, very often discredited political neophytes; many of them now in positions of influence in Brussels. They were given their posts for showing subservience to the EU over the years, being rewarded with a free ride on the 'gravy train'; jobs for the boys and girls. Well, the chickens are coming home to roost in flocks.
The introduction of the Euro currency was the ultimate prize for this backward looking lot, no doubt thinking (some of them still thinking), that the Euro would become an international reserve currency. The problem, however, was that it was introduced for the wrong reason, to bind European nations together, making it easier for the unelected monolith that is Brussels to govern these former democracies.
Let us be clear about the international melt down being played out today; certainly it is a concern that the United States is sinking rapidly in the west, something that was hastened by voting a socialist into the White House. Nevertheless, the concern for Europeans is the instability of the Euro, which is geared to suiting a Franco/German alliance, and the devil take the hindmost. This is now the major fault of world economics, causing much instability, as many of the Euro nations cannot meet their financial commitments.
Peter Hitchens wrote some years ago that we will finish up being the shoeshine boys.
HE COULD WELL BE RIGHT.

LET'S ALL HAVE A HIGHER DEBT CEILING.
The term 'debt ceiling' currently applies to the news that the US of A has decided that it will raise the bar, giving itself the right to increase borrowing. We could assume, therefore, that the Eurozone could follow suit in order to ease it's own financial concerns. Naturally, it's not as simple as that. The dollar, a reserve currency, presumably makes it a special case. There is a problem nevertheless; the US economy, as with all others, has to be nurtured and kept under control, as one's own domestic economy. Incidentally, where does all this borrowed money come from? Well, it's only virtual. The promise of working to pay off the debt is also rather doubtful; unless incomes are reduced, making goods more competitively priced.
With all this financial turmoil, very little time is given to the views of folk, who, in the writer's opinion, look at life from a more disciplined perspective. Why is the West insistent upon further education for any subject we care to think about? Obviously, courses such as Medicine, Science, Mathematics, Languages plus a few others, is all that is necessary. In Britain, the reason is to keep youngsters from the dole queue. The out of work option is almost written into each school's curriculum. Any academic failure is considered to be the fault of others; many that have fallen short of sufficient knowledge still make it to University. Those with no qualifications at all, unfortunately, cannot hold down a job that includes writing or simple arithmetic. To be a Joiner for example, requires a knowledge of geometry. This lack of education is not a problem that would be found in Asia.
BASIC EDUCATION IS THE KEY.

MONEY RARELY SLEEPS.
I wanted to say that money never sleeps, but it does in my current account. However, in the world of global economics, currencies and economies are changing as you read this; they never stop. The new self acclaimed 'Green Goddess', Chancellor Merkel, along with 'Robin' to her 'Batman', President Sarkozy, presumably relaxing somewhere on a summer vacation. The latter will soon be having an extended leave, by way of paternity leave, so essential in the modern bankrupt world of Europe.
Politicians can bluster as much as they like, but nothing is going to change until we return to the work place ahead of all these other sideshows. The recent second bailout of the Greek economy will only last temporarily: 'What does Robin do then, poor thing?'
We can huff and puff as much as we like, but safety nets can't absorb the problem indefinitely.
JUST ASSUME THAT IT IS YOUR PERSONAL ECONOMY.

EURO TO ZERO.
What a ridiculous palaver, manipulating the currency, denying the obvious, all cobbled together by a bunch of vain nincompoops trying desperately to save face. This will only make the problem greater when the bubble finally bursts, and burst it surely will.
Naturally, neither Merkel nor Sarkozy wish the ultimate disaster to occur on their watch. Angela Merkel is probably already deadwood in the view of her own electorate; not many of them will be keen on further support for the Greek economy. The long term concern here, is that the Social Democrats will be back, giving money away that doesn't exist.
Although the Euro was never going to be a proper currency, it was introduced with a view to hurrying the pace of political integration; to be ruled by the supreme dim, unelected, massed ranks of Brussels. The rest of the world had to humour the system for awhile, but it won't last for much longer. Some of the worst hit countries may endeavour to correct their economies, but it will only take one to return to reckless mode and the game will be up.
THE LAST FLIGHT TO GREECE IS NOW BOARDING.

THE SLOW DEATH OF THE EUROPEAN UNION.
As the EU is currently dying a slow death by a hundred dodgy banks, but continuing to go through the endless charades of appearing to be on top of the game. We have written here before about the bravado of the incompetent neophytes, ranging from heads of states, to the dim crowd mincing about Brussels, pretending to be busy, mainly inventing new taxes. What a way to run a business.
It would seem that Brussels is now well aware of the considerable anti-European feeling in much of the UK, only Westminster stands between logic or continued decline.
BEWARE OF MORE CENTRALISATION.

GREEN OR BUST.
It has been obvious for some considerable time that the western world's economic turmoil can only get worse; we have been putting sticking plasters on amputated limbs. This section of the planet is run by politicians totally out of their depths, chasing the debt, and Europe is loaded with them. Chancellor Merkel has got her knickers in a real twist regarding Greece and the Euro. Having loaned billions so far, we can't get it back without giving them the money with which to pay us back; yes and we, the Brits, have joined in this nonsense, thanks to Alistair Darling. Let's face it, a few more billion from our total debt of £5 trillion will hardly be noticeable, which is just as well, because the chances of getting it back are slim indeed!

HASTY POLITICAL DECISIONS.
An unfortunate aspect of democratic government currently being played out in Germany, was the instant decision to blame Spanish cucumbers for their dire outbreak of E.coli. This situation is very serious, as innocent people lose their lives without a word of warning. The point being made here, was the insistence of the German Government, that the cause was immediately deemed to be these cucumbers. However, many days later, a direct connection has still not been made.
It seems here, that the camaraderie is supposed to be one of the core values of the European Union, that is, until the German Government decides that the wheels come off, due to the afore mentioned imminent election. Such decisions can throw a nation's economy into a 'tail-spin'. Spain, which is already facing severe financial problems, can only look on, and destroy millions of their current crop of vegetables. In addition to this flippant knee jerk reaction by the Germans, it has triggered a cancellation of all Russian purchases of vegetables from the whole of the EU. How smart is that? No doubt the UK will be asked to contribute to any subsequent bail out for the Spanish Government.
I WONDER WHAT THE ADVANTAGES OF EU MEMBERSHIP HAPPENS TO BE?

ANGELA HAS GONE A FUNNY SHADE OF GREEN.
In a panic to appease the 'Greens', Chancellor Merkel has promised to get rid of nuclear power stations by the early 2020's. This of course is tremendous news for the French, as their export of electricity should go up in leaps and bounds. I'm sure that they will consider building many more nuclear power stations close to the German border.
It is difficult to establish how the Hun intends to power it's industry, as the wind refuses to blow at a constant speed, if at all. This, therefore, calls for some kind of traditional backup. In Germany's case, this would suggest coal fired power stations. What goes around, comes around.
As Germany gets closer to election time, expect Angela to appear in an outfit similar to Her Maj's, as the latter arrived in Ireland.
LET'S GET THE UK OUT OF THIS DIM CLUB.

FINLANDIA.
Are we witnessing a turn for the better? Finland has given the eurosceptic party, True Finns, a position of power, following the recent elections. This bodes well for the logical thinkers opposed to the outrageously corrupt activities taking place, at our enormous expense, in that den of European iniquity, Brussels. This should help Messrs. Farage/Hannan and Helmer in their day to day battle with this bunch of fraudsters.
The True Finns intend to block the bail out of funds to the nations who have, frankly, gone bust. This will naturally lead to the main member nations, Germany and France, closing ranks to discredit any satellite that insists upon prudence. Indeed, anyone with the nerve to criticise the dictatorial regime at the heart of the European project.
IT'S TIME FOR BRITAIN TO MAKE A MOVE.

YOU'LL NEED SMELLING SALTS BEFORE READING THIS.
It is becoming apparent that around 90% of MEPs are fed up with the regular toing and froing needed to include Strasbourg as a part of EUHQ. This activity has always cost the Union members a mountain of money, but after all this time, Members are beginning to get to grips with the reality of the current monetary concerns. Well it is a start. Meanwhile, the French are screaming "Sacre bleu" at such an affront; after all this has been the 'mother of all gravy trains'.
THE SCRAP NATURALLY COULD COST MILLIONS MORE.

CHASING THE DEBT AGAIN.
Arriving on time, the collapse of the Portuguese economy. This financial meltdown is a domino effect in slow motion. Who will be next? The way Spain is advising us of it's new found prudence makes it a favourite to be in the frame.
Why is it that many of us without any experience in international economics, but with an abundance of commonsense, could have told the bunch of finance ministers, currently on one of their regular jollies, endeavouring to patch up the 'toy town' currency, the Euro, what would happen. They will, as ever, inform us that they have resolved the problem, underwriting the Portuguese economy with more borrowed money. Keynes has never been so popular.
The major concern here has to be the knock-on effect of trading with nations who have little or no credit guarantees. This can only slow our growth in the immediate future.
WAKE UP GERMANY, THE CLOCK IS TICKING.

BRUSSELS FALLS AT THE FIRST.
If the European Union were a steeplechase, it would never finish the course. One can argue the pros and cons of the situation in Libya; but what stands out within the EU, is the fact that it cannot agree on a combined action regarding the situation in the Middle East/North Africa. So why are we throwing money that we are having to borrow, at a foreign policy regime where nations obviously disagree; this being Brussels.
Germany will always run for cover when this type of international conflagration raises it's ugly head.
It is also interesting to note that Merkel is losing her flavour; as the Green's make gains in her heartland.
IS THAT AL DENTE?

VASCO DA GAMA GOT IT ABOUT RIGHT.
You always need to know of an escape route, particularly when involved with things European. We in the UK could use Vasco at this time, due to the impending economic crisis breaking in Portugal. It is beyond belief that we are still associated with this motley shower of fraudsters that is the European Union. Our Prime Minister insists that membership is good for us; this must be based on the fact that we can borrow billions of pounds more to bail these nations out. One wonders what part of the £4.8 trillion we should use for this operation.
The EU and it's failing currency, the Euro, is destroying all the major European nations, but what Great Britain should be considering is, what do we do with Alistair Darling who signed the UK up to supporting these inevitable economic crises?
We've still got Spain and Italy to consider, and the way the bill is mounting, GB also.
I'M CONVINCED THAT GERMANY WILL BE THE FIRST TO BLINK.

IGNORING BAD NEWS.
We in Britain are used to our main national broadcaster overlooking news that it chooses to 'dark hole'. The BBC never announces anything that shows the European Union in a bad light. In addition, the weekly programme Question Time, rarely, if ever, allows questions regarding the EU. Things won't improve either, having appointed a new head of production, an out and out left winger. Strange for a programme that must never show partiality, indeed, neither should the station.
Naturally, the fact that both Greece and Spain have suffered a further setback, with a reassessment of their respective credit ratings, is not going to get in the way of listing the savings having to be made by the Coalition Government, due to the incredible profligacy of the last Labour Government.
The revised rating for Greece is B1, this being lower than Egypt, and Spain down two to Aa2. I suppose North Africa is currently a godsend to the BBC. The problem, however, will not go away. Methinks that the German people will soon start to show an anti EU feeling.
WHO CAN BLAME THEM?

SOVEREIGN TO VISIT IRELAND.
It has been announced that the Queen is to make a state visit to Ireland in the near future. This will be the first time for a hundred years since the last sovereign visit made by King George V. That was at the time when trouble was beginning to brew regarding our governance of the then province. Much water has since passed under the bridge. It is a step in the right direction, and we obviously now share much in common. The writer has many Irish friends with opinions not dissimilar to his own.
Nevertheless, what is clear is that the Republic is now in considerable hock to Germany. This would suggest that they are in a similar situation to that of a century ago, but with a different country telling them what to do.
WHAT GOES 'ROUND COMES 'ROUND.

SOME GALLIC SPIN.
It is always a disappointment to hear a national leader making farcical statements such as, "we won't allow the euro to fail". Sarkozy made this pronouncement only this week. Believe me, once the impetus of it's slide gets out of hand, there will be nothing that he, or anybody will be able to do about it. Just a couple of additional national failures should push it beyond redemption. Followers of the international markets will know that these could be any two from a number of struggling economies.
Should our Government decide to promise financial assistance; it could be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH INDEPENDENT NATION STATES?

CHRISTIAN FESTIVALS FOR 2011.
The scene: Any school in the United Kingdom during mid-winter, discussing arrangements regarding an Easter Festival.
Teacher: "Please refer to your influential European Union Diary for the current year, and inform me when Easter falls ?"
Pupil: "Please teacher, there's no mention of the date for Easter, or Christmas; but it is full of information of important dates when the Muslims, Jews, Sikhs and Hindus celebrate their particular religious festivals".
Teacher: "Very well, let us get back to more important considerations. Which of you girls hasn't had their morning after pill?"
It would appear that Brussels has spent around £4.5 million on diaries in an endeavour to brainwash children, engineering them into becoming Europhiles. This is reminiscent of both the Nazi and the Soviet regimes, and will reap an ugly harvest should it continue unchecked. Remember, many of the EU officials have pink all over their CV's.
The British Government should automatically have all the offending diaries confiscated and charge the EU with our contribution. Surely this would not be asking too much.
IF ONE DOESN'T SUPPORT OUR ACCEPTED RELIGION, THEN EXPECT TO BE FORCED INTO SUPPORTING ANOTHER.

ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER FEW MILLION EUROES.
It remains a mystery to the author, how Britain, with so much history, can possibly keep accepting the fraudulent activities of the European Union. In the last week it has transpired, that the pro Europe, former member of the European Court of Auditors turned whistleblower, Maarten Engwirda, has disclosed the pressures put upon the auditors to cook the books. This is Marxism at it's very best. All this enacted by unelected officials, screwing as much as they can from the rest of us, who, apparently, have no say in the matter; this is after we have been exploited by our own government. As we might expect, the UK Government proceeds to do as it is told by Brussels. It may appear to do so grudgingly, but that is for effect only.
Come on citizens of England, if not the entire United Kingdom. We cannot allow this to continue.
THE TAB FOR THIS STUPIDITY IS ENORMOUS.

DOES ANYTHING HAPPEN IN BRUSSELS THIS TIME OF YEAR?
You bet that it does. While the cat is away, the unelected mice will find time to devise schemes to extort from the comatose, semi-conscious folk of Europe; Britain in particular, always a good touch, encouraged by any Government in power.
The author is, however, beginning to notice the campaign in the Daily Express, pursuing the cause of withdrawal from the European Union. I have been impressed with articles by both Leo McKinstry and Patrick O'Flynn. Strange how two columnists, so obviously 'Celt', are so opposed to the undemocratic, socialist policies that pour from Brussels. A view that any reader of these blogs would note, that they are in agreement with the writer's views.
We have considerable work to do in 2011, much of which has been suggested in previous postings. Take an interest in the appointees to the EU commission, check their CV's, it is amazing how many will sport a 'pinko' history. Believe me when I point out, that they are only in it for personal gain.
