The British Prime Minister, David Cameron, has the temerity to tell us that the Greeks have endorsed the proposed £110 billion bailout. The author thinks not. The Greeks have had a decision imposed upon them by Brussels, which is a totally different animal. The clear thinkers know that this will not survive, and that Greece will have to exit the Eurozone.
Cameron went on to expand on 'firewalls' for the other dodgy economies in the zone. Could we enquire, whatever happened to the free market sorting these problems out? Which would mean that the weaker economies would have to revert to their old currencies. There is nothing wrong in doing this now, as it will cost much more by pushing them further down the road.
CAMERON, TRY KEEPING YOUR NOSE OUT OF EUROZONE DISASTERS.

GREEK FARCE TURNS TO TRAGEDY.
Most people with only a limited knowledge of history will be aware that Greece was the original seat of democracy. Similarly, the same folk are also aware of the cause of the financial upheaval that has been simmering for some years in the nation's economy. This was, undoubtedly, hastened by the flippant way Greece has been running it's state sector, certainly since it's inclusion in the Eurozone. Much damage can happen in ten years. This was a prime example of why they should not have been allowed to join the currency. Brussels's vanity, however, was not about to be derailed by a simple matter of whether or not Greece could cope. The more the merrier was the cry, a 'bums on seats syndrome'. And what do you get when a bunch of economic neophytes get excited about such a theory? Disaster!!!
What is becoming obvious, in reading comments by more reliable economists, the real reason for the insistence by Germany to keep the Euro intact throughout the original member nations is that they know that if Greece bows out, then more nations will follow. The consequence of this will be the damage done to the German Motor Industry, as the countries that leave will have to devalue, leaving less money to lavish on fancy motors. This is what frightens Angela Merkel.
Nevertheless, no matter how much money is thrown into a rescue package, Greece will have to leave sooner or later.
NOW LET'S SEE, HOW DO WE SPELL D-E-M-O-C-R-A-C-Y?

IT'S BEGINNING TO STINK OVER THERE.
You can be in our gang if you are good Europeans, agreeing with everything we say. Don't however do everything that we do, such as support each other in our domestic elections, as this might well be deemed undemocratic to the more mature nations of Europe.
The morphing of Anglas Merkozy has now hit the hustings in France, electioneering for the approaching Presidential Elections. This could, on the one hand, find support in the transvestite community; somehow, that is unlikely to sway the nation. We, in Britain, really have to put our heads above the parapet, admonishing such practices, pretending, like the 'Three Musketeers', that we are 'all for one and one for all', a kind of palindrome. This is probably the way that the Franco-German leadership sees as the future for Europe; we are the same from whatever angle we are viewed. This would fall into a kind of 'smoke and mirrors' category.
As with the theme in our sister blog, accessible via http://polly-tickle.blogspot.com, you will note that all politicians practice sleight of hand wheezes, with the pretence of doing us good. Europe, of course, is different, insomuch that we don't get a vote to remove the Brussels' law makers, and Merkozy would like this status quo to remain in situ. Not that a change of parties in France would alter that either; in fact we would be on the receiving end of a more condensed Marxism.
In reality, we would probably prefer far less politics, with a ban on electioneering, and contestants standing alone on their records.
BUT THE MELODY LINGERS ON.

BACKSLIDING BEGIN.
'It only takes a moment' according to songwriter Jerry Herman. After showing some leadership regarding The UK's relationship with the the European Union, David Cameron was almost bound to succumb to parts of the objection he mounted, regarding greater integration to support the lost cause that is the Euro. He has evidently agreed to allow some of the institutions to take control, where necessary, in the budgetary reforms of the nations that are in financial 'dire straits'.
This might appear to be an efficient method of controlling the disorganised members of the Eurozone, but it is also intrusive and non-democratic. There are also aspects that would leave Britain on the outside. This could be advantageous for those of us who wish to leave the EU; letting the bossy Anglas Merkozy push the others around. We must, however, sooner or later, be asked if we want to remain within this appalling, dictatorial relationship, which can only cause tensions eventually.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, we have the dim 'Thoroughly Modern Miliband', who we wouldn't trust to help his brother cross the road, making a meal of Cameron's change of course. The Prime Minister has got to avoid these 'banana skins', ensuring that such opportunities do not arise. We are well aware that 'Thoroughly Modern' would sell us up the river regarding the EU. So I'll repeat the WC Fields maxim: 'Never give a sucker an even break'.
THE LESSON IS: BE TOTALLY CONSISTENT.
