This isn't the British shopping chain we're talking about i.e Marks & Spencer, but the furtive Merkel and Sarkozy. Their latest scam will have to be the last in this series; the world will not believe another pack of lies following the abject failure of all the previous attempts to buck the market. The economies of both Greece and Italy continue in free fall. This side of the English Channel we can feel the 'death rattle' of the Euro.
"Hands up all who wish to subscribe to the 'save the Euro' fund". Poor Sarkozy has got to perform some extra special political contortions before France's forthcoming Presidential Election in the spring. The problem is, that this is far too important an issue to bend the truth for political gain, but it happens all the time, due to expediency.
The Americans are making their annoyance very obvious, as Obama is into to his election year, and yes, it does no harm to be putting the blame elsewhere. Nobody, however, is taking the blame, which collectively is that of the total western world. There are some rather intelligent folk around who have been pointing out for sometime, that the credit crunch proper has still to come.
LET US HOPE THAT WE CAN HANDLE IT.
