Little changes. Brussels keeps warning the UK that it must treat all new European arrivals the same as its own taxpaying citizens, and although the Government will 'huff and puff' with rhetoric that would suggest a kind of opposition, it will continue to throw taxpayer GB's hard-earned money at the problem.
We had a little euphoria in one news broadcast this week, that Ireland is on the mend economically. Pigs have also been seen flying over Dublin. Nevertheless, any kind of improvement must be welcome.
The big story, however, is that internationally renowned economist, Sir Christopher Pissarides of the London School of Economics (LSE), which is an emporium of left wing ideology, has had one of those conversions, rarely admitted by such an high flying establishment figure and Nobel Prize winner. Formerly, his stance on Europe was to back the Euro currency, but he has now 'seen the light', realising that unemployment is totally out of control, particularly amongst the young. His revised recommendation is to dismantle the currency before it does more lasting damage. I'm sure that we can say that this is worthwhile news. So why didn't the BBC report these findings? Answers on a post card etc., .....
IN THE MEANTIME, HAS ANYBODY SEEN ANGELA MERKEL?
